How to Insert an Image on Outlook (Please Zoom In on Chrome 200%)

Step 1: Open a New Email in Outlook

  1. Open Microsoft Outlook.
  2. Click on the "New Email" button located in the top left corner to create a new email.

Step 2: Insert the Image

  1. In the new email window, place your cursor where you want to insert the image.
  2. Click on the "Insert" tab in the top menu.
  3. Select "Pictures" from the dropdown menu. This will allow you to insert an image from your computer.
  4. Browse to the location on your computer where the image is saved, select it, and click "Insert."

Step 3: Resize the Image

  1. Click on the image you've just inserted to select it.
  2. Small circles (handles) will appear at the corners and sides of the image.
  3. To enlarge the image, click and drag one of the corner handles outward. This will increase the size of the image while maintaining its aspect ratio. If you drag from a side handle, it will only resize in that direction, potentially distorting the image.

Step 4: Add a Hyperlink to the Image

  1. With the image still selected, right-click on the image and choose "Link..." or click on the "Insert" tab and then select "Link" (or "Hyperlink" depending on your version).
    1. Note: When inserting hyperlink, left click off the image then right click on the image to ensure you are linking the image and not a random point on the page. (The Image should NOT be BLUE when linking.)
  2. In the "Insert Hyperlink" dialog box, enter the URL (web address) you want the image to link to in the "Address" field.
  3. Click "OK" to apply the hyperlink to the image.

Step 5: Send the Email

  1. Complete the rest of your email as you normally would.
  2. When you're ready, click "Send" to send the email with the hyperlinked image.

Optional Tips:

  • Preview the email: Before sending, you can preview how the email will look by saving it as a draft and viewing it.
  • Test the hyperlink: To ensure the hyperlink works, you can right-click the image and select "Open Hyperlink" after inserting it.
